1st of the New Toy Creations

It is Done! I loved making this toy.

Nadia drew her lovely colourful  picture of a monster and also added a few options for names at the bottom. She circled Hairy as her favourite option, but I am gonna leave it up to her to decide on his name, once she meets him for real.

And here is my version of her monster…

He tries his best to look scary, but his really soft heart shines through,

And his sharp teeth are only used for eating yummy cookies.

His satelite can also detect even the faintest sound of cookies crumbling or chocolates being unwrapped. So Nadia, be careful, you would have to share everything from now on…

More monsters, robots, aliens and a very small chicken named Peanut coming soon.

Thoughts and directions

Here is the thing. Sometimes requests come your way and you take them on with vigor. The challenge is met and you enjoy every moment of it. Then time passes and for a while you get only the regular type orders. Until, again the same type of challenge arise and you go at it and in the end enjoy it to the full again.

This started in Portugal in about 2004, whilst we were living/working there. It was in this time that my Artist Bearmaking was at a high.  A young girl, Sofia came to me and asked if I would be willing to look at creating a bear for her from her own drawing. The challenge intrigued me and I set to work with her pencil sketch in hand. The outcome was wonderful and her joy at seeeing her own toy come to life, so fulfilling.

Bearmaking carried on, custom orders continued, and Cross stitch designs were added.

And then, again more of these custom orders came my way, each one, brought with it so much joy and fulfillment.

After a long break with moving and changing our things significantly, we have arrived at our new home, unpacked and settled and there is a lovely outdoor studio for me so Klippie has to decide what the future holds. And how best to make use of this lovely space and environment.

And so the possibility of making some more custom toys has shown it ‘s face again and this time Klippie’s Creations has decided to start marketing this concept. Yes, I know, I know, this is not a new concept, there are others doing it. But it is one of my talents, I love doing it and it is so uplifting to children’s self-esteems that it just has to be done.

It is a marvelous thing, for any child to see what their art can turn into.

More browsing of blogs, meant another awesome project…

Found this marvelous idea for storing Little girls hair clips. Abigail’s hair clips are normally in a basket or box and to find matching ones’s is a bit of a scratch. Now, having created this clip organiser, she can reach it to place her own clips in a special place. Abi loves having a place for everything and will definately keep it neat. ( Awesome Kid).

Craftiness is not optional, has the most marvelous tutorials. In this tutorial, Jess explains how she made her lovely clippy holder.

Being in a rush, and wanting to complete the project right away, my clippy holder doesn’t have alovely frame but it looks neat enough, for inside Abi’s cupboard.

As some of the clips were starting to look a bit worn, and I couldn’t bring myself to toss them out. I upcycled them with some pretty ribbon leftovers. And some special navy blue ribbon bought for matching the school uniform.(Top)

As per my usual self, I cannot just make a recipe or craft project and follow the instructions as they are. So this one has some tags added at the bottom for Alicebands (headbands).
